Buckle up for "Star Trek: Discovery" Season 2.

The new season is slated to arrive in January, so CBS All Access has revealed a featurette called, "What to Expect in Season 2." Not only does it feature commentary from some of the stars of the show, there is exclusive footage for the new episodes. It looks like there are big developments coming.

One exciting part of the video is that it teases the Discovery coming into contact with the Enterprise. There's an "awkward" meeting, as Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) describes it, because Star Fleet has ordered him to take command of the ship. That means we'll get a chance to uncover more of his backstory, and Mount hints it'll be fascinating.

"Speaking as a fan, we've always wanted to know more about Pike," Mount says in the featurette. "It's such a mysterious history."
