Will Smith, super pigeon?

The first trailer for "Spies in Disguise" features Smith's voice as suave, smooth super spy Lance Sterling ... until his friend and helper, young scientist Walter Beckett (Tom Holland), turns Lance into a pigeon.

Lance goes from speeding around in cool cars, jumping out of buildings and airplanes, and saving the world to ... flopping his wings. As Walter points out, it's the perfect disguise for an undercover spy.

Lance, well, doesn't agree. "Aaaaarrgghhhhh!" the spy screams in horror.

The animated movie comes from Blue Sky, the same company that did "Ice Age," "Rio" and "Ferdinand." So you can expect a gently humorous family film with some wink-wink jokes for the grown-ups. Ben Mendelsohn, Karen Gillan, Rashida Jones, DJ Khaled, and Masi Oka make up the rest of the voice cast.

"Spies in Disguise" opens in theaters September 11.
