'Sons of Anarchy' Actor Alan O'Neill Died at 47
A former "Sons of Anarchy" actor has died at age 47.
Alan O'Neill, who had a recurring role as Hugh on the FX drama, was found dead on Wednesday, Variety reports. His manager confirmed O'Neill's death to the publication. It was the actor's girlfriend who reportedly found him. He died in their Los Angeles apartment, law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
No foul play is suspected, per TMZ's sources. The actor is said to have had a history of heart problems as well as of alochol and drug abuse. There's no word as to whether any of those issues were factors in his death.
O'Neill was born in Ireland and worked for years in United Kingdom. He is best known for his roles on the TV series "Fair City" and "Sons of Anarchy." He was part of "Fair City" from 2006 to 2012, according to Variety, as the character Keith McGrath. More recently, O'Neill had been cast in the upcoming horror film "Charlie Lives: The Family's Return."
In light of his death, some of O'Neill's former co-workers have shared messages via social media. "Sons of Anarchy" vet Timothy V. Murphy was one of them; he tweeted condolences to the family of his friend and former co-star.
