Over 15 years after "Almost Famous,"Cameron Crowe is going back behind the scenes of music performances ... on television.

Showtime has picked up Crowe's "Roadies," which "chronicles the rock world through the eyes of music's unsung heroes." It will follow the roadies and crew for the fictitious Staton-House Band as they tour the United States. Crowe released a teaser trailer on his website:
Showtime ordered a pilot last year, and Crowe teamed up with J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot production company and "My So-Called Life" creator Winnie Holzman. After some recasting and refining, the network ordered a 10-episode first season, which will star Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, and others.

Crowe says to expect "10 stories about life, music, love and all points in between." After the disaster that was his movie "Aloha," it's nice to see Crowe getting back to what he was best at.
