Ryan Reynolds Making Adult Version of 'Home Alone' Called 'Stoned Alone'
Deadpool, meet Kevin?
Ryan Reynolds' career is so interesting right now. He has become synonymous with the R-rated "Deadpool" franchise, and he was announced last year for the live-action "Detective Pikachu" movie.
Now he's producing a "Home Alone" reboot -- but with a very Deadpool-friendly twist.
According to Deadline, Ry guy is attached to produce "Stoned Alone," following a 20-something weed growing "loser" who misses the plane for his holiday ski trip -- somewhat similar to Macaulay Culkin's Kevin McCallister in the 1990 Christmas movie. Here's more on "Stoned Alone" via Deadline:
"He makes the best of things by getting high. Paranoia sets in and he believes he hears someone break into his house. Turns out thieves have broken in. Fully stoned and fueled by paranoia, he tries to thwart the thieves and defend his castle."
Strangely into this. It doesn't sound like Ryan Reynolds would be starring in it, though, at least not as the 20-something lead character -- unless they change that to 40-something. But come on. He can't tease us with something like this and not show up on screen in some capacity.
Maybe he can play one of the thieves. Fans have already suggested Macaulay Culkin to play another one. That would be classic.
Augustine Frizzell will direct "Stoned Alone" from a script by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider.
Stay tuned for more details, including casting and a release date.
