Rumor: 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3' Might Tap 'Bumblebee' Director Travis Knight
The latest director rumored to be taking the reins of "Guardians of the Galaxy 3"? Travis Knight, whose first live-action film, the "Transformers" prequel "Bumblebee" opens in December.
According to DisInsider, Marvel Studios and Disney is very interested in Knight, whose "Kubo and the Two Strings" was nominated for a Best Animated Feature Film Oscar.
Reportedly, he was also on the shortlist to direct "The Eternals," a job that went to Choé Zhao ("The Rider").
Since James Gunn was fired from the franchise, the series has effectively been put on hold. Right now, it's not on any release calendar.
Everyone from Taika Waititi (who made "Thor: Ragnarok" one of the funniest Marvel movies ever) and Rocket voicer Bradley Cooper (who just made his directorial debut with "A Star is Born") have been rumored to direct the third installment.
