Reese Witherspoon Makes Herself Cry While Fangirling Over Goldie Hawn
Even Oscar winners aren't immune to fangirling over their favorite celebrities.
Reese Witherspoon gave a speech Thursday in honor of her idol, Goldie Hawn, to commemorate the fellow Academy Award winner's new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. To say that Witherspoon was excited to honor Hawn would be an understatement. She was so moved that she ended in tears as she described the impact that Hawn has had on her and on film.
As you can imagine, it was a touching speech. Witherspoon described looking up to Hawn as a child and realizing that she too could be "feminine and funny and tough and warm." In fact, she decided to take her breakthrough role in 2001's "Legally Blonde" after watching "Private Benjamin," a film in which Hawn plays a character somewhat similar to Elle Woods. Asking herself "What would Goldie do?" has paid off.
