Rachel Weisz in Talks to Join 'Black Widow' Movie
Rachel Weisz is heading for a different kind of costume drama.
The actress, fresh off an Oscar nomination for "The Favourite," is in early talks to join Marvel's "Black Widow" standalone movie, starring Scarlett Johansson, according to Variety.
This comes on the heels of earlier news that David Harbour is jumping on board the film.
Details of Weisz's potential character are still unknown.
The globe-trotting story will center on Natasha Romanoff, the spy who was trained by the KGB before becoming an agent of SHIELD and an Avenger. Also unknown: If this movie will take place before or after the events of the upcoming "Avengers: Endgame."
Weisz is coming off an acclaimed performance in "The Favourite." She previously won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for "The Constant Gardener."
