Princess Leia's Slave Bikini Sells for $96,000 at Auction
Princess Leia's skimpy slave costume from 1983's "Return of the Jedi" brought $96,000 at auction.
Bidding for the metallic bikini that Carrie Fisher wore while enslaved by Jabba the Hut started at $80,000 on Friday and soared from there at the Profiles in History Auction, according to CNN. The winning bidder wasn't named.
Dozens of other "Star Wars" items were also on sale, including cameras used to shoot the films, prototype Darth Vader helmets, scripts and posters.
Fetching the most money was another another Leia-related item, a model of the "Blockade Runner" used for special effects -- and the first flying ship ever seen in a Star Wars film -- selling for $450,000, more than double its $200,000 opening bid.
Fisher returns to the "Star Wars" franchise with"Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which arrives in theaters Dec. 18. Watch the trailer below:
