Philip Winchester Brings 'Chicago Justice' Character to 'Law & Order: SVU'
Philip Winchester is packing his bags to move from the Windy City to the Big Apple.
The "Chicago Justice" star is taking his character, assistant state's attorney Peter Stone, to "Law & Order: SVU," where Stone will now be an ADA, according to Deadline. Both shows were produced by Dick Wolf.
"Chicago Justice" was canceled by NBC in May after one season. Since all of Wolf's shows are part of the same universe, it seemed likely that some of the cast members would be placed on other shows. Jon Seda, for one, is taking his character back to his previous show, "Chicago PD."
Winchester will recur in the upcoming 19th season of "SVU," starting around midseason. Stone has a special connection to the "Law & Order" franchise — the character's father, Benjamin Stone (played by Michael Moriarty), was an ADA in the first four seasons of the original series.
