Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the directing duo behind "21 Jump Street" and "The Lego Movie," are doing pretty damn good after being infamously fired from "Solo: A Star Wars Story."

The pair are producers on the Oscar-nominated "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," the second "Lego" movie just opened today, and their new project, "The Last Human," is igniting a bidding war, according to THR.

"The Last Human"  is based on an upcoming children's book of the same name which will be published in 2019. The book by Lee Bacon is set 30 years after the last humans have gone extinct and the world is now populated by robots. Except humans aren't extinct after all, as a 12-year-old robot discovers when she meets a human who is the same age as her. Adventures and prejudice-shattering ensue.

The two highest-bidding studios so far: Sony (home of "Spider-Verse") and Warner Bros. (home of the "Lego" movies).

Lord and Miller's next film will likely be "The Martian" author Andy Weir's "Artemis" -- a heist story set on the moon -- for Fox.
