Chilling New 'Pet Sematary' Poster Hits Before First Trailer Debut
After the runaway success of last year's hit "It" remake, the next Stephen King property set for a big screen reimagining is "Pet Sematary." And as the film's first poster makes clear, this new take on the horror classic will be as chilling as you'd expect from such twisted source material.
At first, the one-sheet appears strikingly simple, with a shovel-wielding figure standing in silhouette over a mangles pile of...something. But a closer look reveals the remnants of what gives the film its title.
For the uninitiated, here's the film's official synopsis:
Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
A trailer for the flick is set to drop tomorrow, and we're already flinching in anticipation of the jump-scares to come. "Pet Sematary" will rise in theaters on April 5, 2019.
