In the wake of the death of celebrity chef and reality TV host Anthony Bourdain last week, Netflix has announced that it will continue to stream his CNN travel series, "Parts Unknown," which was set to expire from the service this week.

The streaming service tweeted out the news on Tuesday, revealing that the show was initially set to depart Netflix on June 16. But following the loss of the 61-year-old chef -- who died of an apparent suicide on June 8, in the midst of production on a "Parts Unknown" episode in France -- the company decided to extend its deal to keep the show's streaming rights.

Though it's currently unclear how long this new deal will last, Netflix said in its tweet that "Parts Unknown" will be available "for months to come." The series, which follows Bourdain across the globe as he samples local cuisine and immerses himself in other cultures, won two Emmys, a Peabody, and a host of other awards throughout its run.

The first eight seasons of "Parts Unknown" -- which is currently airing its 11th season on CNN -- are available on Netflix now.
