Oscars 2018: Jennifer Lawrence Laughing at Emma Stone Was the (Second) Best GIF
Last year's Academy Awards were so memorable -- for being a disaster, among other reasons. So we were looking forward to see the Class of 2018's crop of memorable GIFs and memes.
As we should've expected, real-life BFFs Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence provided a little something for the fans early in the show.
During his monologue, host Jimmy Kimmel mentioned the 2017 Best Picture gaffe. The cameras cut to "La La Land" star Emma Stone, who was part of the *almost* winning team, and a key name in the ensuing snafu.
Emma Stone had talked about the gaffe backstage during the 2017 show, right after she won Best Actress for "La La Land." Her name came up again because it was the name in the envelope Warren Beatty had been given, instead of the correct Best Picture envelope reading "Moonlight."
So when Jimmy Kimmel brought up the gaffe again, Emma Stone looked a bit abashed -- and her BFF Jen was all over it, laughing in her face as all true friends would.

Being dorky-cute isn't new for them. Remember this photobomb from last year?
Plus, after the Golden Globes this year, Emma and JLaw were supposed to hang out at after-parties, but when Emma canceled, JLaw ended up with half a freaky face of makeup.
Last year, one of the trending GIFs of Oscar night was Nicole Kidman clapping like a seal, which she had to explain away. The year before, Leonardo DiCaprio made himself a meme by aggressively opening some Girl Scout Cookies.
We'll have to see if more memes and GIFs emerge after the Sunday, March 4 Oscars broadcast. And be sure to check out our Oscars coverage for a rundown of the most memorable moments in general.
UPDATE: The clear GIF/meme winner of the 2018 Oscars is Jennifer Garner for her viral reaction shot that no one understands yet. Sorry, Emma and JLaw. Silver still puts you on the podium.
