Orlando Bloom Pops Up in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' TV Spot
Ahoy, prepare for a father/son reunion in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales."
A new TV spot for the fifth installment in the franchise shows a glimpse of Orlando Bloom's sea-shackled Will Turner, who is serving time as Davy Jones, reuniting with son Henry (Brenton Thwaites). The movie is going back to its roots, with the ghostly Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) out to kill all pirates — but especially Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), who wronged him in the past.
To stop Salazar, Jack teams up with Henry to find the legendary Trident of Poseidon — and that leads Henry to see his long-lost father once again.
Last we saw Will, he'd been sentenced to 10 years in succeeding Davy Jones as captain of the Flying Dutchman, which takes dead souls across the sea into the great beyond. The ship only docks once a decade, and the last image of "At World's End" was of Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) and their young son waiting for Will's turner. Why he's still helming the Flying Dutchman is unclear.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" opens in theaters May 26.
