Normani Kordei Injured in 'Dancing With the Stars' Finale Rehearsals
Normani Kordei is still considered the frontrunner to win "Dancing With the Stars" Season 24, but the Fifth Harmony singer faced a new ankle injury just days before the final dances.
TMZjust posted video that shows Normani twisting her ankle during rehearsals with pro Valentin Chmerkovskiy. They take a 10-minute icing break to help her heal, and she'll probably be fine to keep dancing, but the timing might make Team ValMani fans a little bit nervous. Then again, it's very possible the other two couples are dealing with similar injuries and the cameras just weren't there to capture them. Or maybe we'll see those injuries later in video packages. Hopefully DWTS isn't just creating drama for effect ... but this is a reality TV show, and they do love to build dramatic storylines.
Normani and Val are the top-scoring couple of the Spring 2017 season, well ahead of Rashad Jennings & Emma Slater, and waaaay ahead of David Ross & Lindsay Arnold.
Those final three couples will dance two routines on Monday, May 22 -- a redemption dance redo of a previous style, and the all-important Freestyle routines, known as the make-or break dances for winners. Tuesday is the big finale, with the remaining couples doing 24-hour fusion challenge dances for final points before the Mirror Ball champions are named.
