Nick Nolte Joins 'Star Wars' Series 'The Mandalorian'
Nick Nolte is journeying to a galaxy far, far away.
The veteran actor is joining the cast of "The Mandalorian," the live-action "Star Wars" series that will stream on Disney+.
He'll appear opposite already-announced stars Pedro Pascal and Gina Carano. Nolte's credits over four decades include "The Prince of Tides," "The Thin Red Line," and most recently, the short-lived Epix series "Graves."
The series was written by Jon Favreau and episodes will be directed byDave Filoni (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “Star Wars Rebels”), Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa (“Dope”), Bryce Dallas Howard, and Taika Waititi.
Little is known about the plot and characters of the show. It takes place between " Return of the Jedi" and "The Force Awakens." Here is the official synopsis from Lucasfilm:
"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic."
"The Mandalorian" does not yet have a premiere date on Disney+.
