"xXx: Return of Xander Cage"
Vin Diesel's Xander Cage is back in action in this Xplosive sequel available on Digital HD starting Tuesday, May 2, then May 16 on DVD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and On Demand. The international cast includes Donnie Yen, Deepika Padukone, Kris Wu, Ruby Rose, Tony Jaa, Nina Dobrev, and Samuel L. Jackson. The 4K and Blu-ray will include more than an hour of special features, including in-depth interviews with the cast, plus a gag reel, and a behind-the-scenes look at the film's stunts, locations, and more.

"Big Little Lies"
HBO's star-studded (Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgard, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern) mystery, based on the best-selling novel by Liane Moriarty, will be available for digital download on Monday, May 1.

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter"
Zombie-slaying icon Alice (Milla Jovovich) returns to where the nightmare began -- The Hive in Raccoon City -- where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. Returning with Jovovich are franchise regulars Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, and Iain Glen;, alongside enwbies Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, and William Levy. "The Final Chapter" arrives May 2 on digital, then May 16 on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Bonus materials include the featurettes "Explore the Hive," The Badass Trinity & The Women of Resident Evil," "Stunts & Weaponry" and a way to extend the experience with "Retaliation Mode."

"American Exorcism"
Braxton Davis, Michael Filipowich, Sicily Fontaine, and Jessica Morris star in this horror film premiering On Demand May 2, and arriving on DVD August 1. Damon Richter thought he left the world of possessions, exorcisms, and evil behind until an old friend arrives with frightening information about his estranged daughter knowing that only his otherworldly skills can save her.

"Black Rose"
A Russian Police Major (Alexander Nevsky) is enlisted by the LAPD to help solve a series of gruesome murders perpetrated against young women by a sadistic sociopathic killer on the streets of Hollywood in this political thriller available on VOD and DVD on May 2.

TV Worth Watching

"Once Upon a Time" (Sunday on ABC at 8 p.m.)
It's time for our favorite fairy tale characters to burst into song! May 7 marks the musical episode/Captain Swan wedding, with Emma Swan marrying Captain Hook, and several cast members singing seven original songs. Episode 20, "The Song in Your Heart," will lead into the two-part finale, "The Final Battle," which will "complete" the stories of some characters and leave others open for continuation.

"Billions" (Sunday on Showtime at 10 p.m.)
Showtime's Axe (Damien Lewis) vs. Chuck (Paul Giamatti) Season 2 showdown comes to a close on May 7 with Episode 12, "Ball in Hand." Per the network: "Axe receives unexpected news, and Chuck finalizes his long game." The game will continue with Season 3, which has already been ordered.

"The Last Man on Earth" (Sunday on FOX at 9 p.m.)
Hopefully this won't mark The End of Will Forte's apocalyptic comedy, but as of this writing FOX has yet to renew the show for a fourth season. In the one-hour Season 3 finale, "When The Going Gets Tough/Nature's Horchata," all good things must come to a fiery end. According to FOX's synopsis, "The long term consequences of surviving an apocalypse start to have a major impact on the group, whose daily life is upended in the all-new, special one-hour season finale episode.

New on Netflix

This week marks the start of a new month, and you know what that means -- a heap of new titles will be added to Netflix as of May 1, and many more will be leaving.

"Handsome: A Netflix Mystery Movie" (Netflix Original Film)Jeff Garlin ("Curb Your Enthusiasm," "The Goldbergs") directed, co-wrote, and stars in this movie premiering on Netflix this Friday, May 5. Garlin plays Gene Handsome, an L.A. homicide detective whose knack for solving mysteries is matched only by his inability to make sense of his own problems. The "lo-fi, Columbo-style mystery comedy" co-stars Natasha Lyonne, Amy Sedaris, Christine Woods, Steven Weber, Eddie Pepitone, and Leah Remini.

"Sense8" Season 2 (Netflix Original)"We are all worth fighting for" in "Sense8" Season 2, and you can keep following the eight interconnected characters when the sci-fi drama's 10 new episodes arrive on Netflix on May 5.

"Spirit Riding Free"DreamWorks Animation and Netflix's latest series premieres Friday, May 5 on Netflix. The Oscar-nominated film "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" introduced the world to a resilient mustang named Spirit, and that movie inspired a brand new story -- following a gutsy 12-year-old girl named Lucky who befriends a wild mustang whom she aptly names Spirit.

"The Mars Generation" (Netflix Original)"Space nerd" teens chase the dream of becoming astronauts who travel to Mars, while experts reflect on NASA's history and future, in this documentary arriving on Netflix May 5.

"The Salesman"

The 2017 Best Foreign Language Film winner -- written/directed/produced by Asghar Farhadi ("A Separation") -- arrives on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on May 2. The suspenseful story (with a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes) follows a young married couple in Tehran whose lives are forever changed by an unexpected act of violence. Bonus materials include a featurette that goes behind-the-scenes with Farhadi as he shares his inspiration for the film.

"The Red Turtle"
This animated fantasy film from the famed Studio Ghibli follows a man shipwrecked at sea who becomes stranded on a beautiful but desolate island. He learns to live in isolation, seemingly tormented in his efforts to escape the island by a giant red turtle. The film arrives on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on May 2. Special features include two behind-the-scenes featurettes and an AFI Fest Q&A with director Michael Dudok de Wit.

"I Am Not Your Negro"
Narrated by actor Samuel L. Jackson, and based on James Baldwin's unfinished manuscript, this documentary explores the history of racism in the United States through Baldwin's reminiscences of civil rights leaders Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr, as well as his personal observations. The Best Documentary Feature nominee arrives on disc May 2.

"Gold"
Matthew McConaughey plays a gold prospector desperate to achieve success in this jungle adventure co-starring Edgar Ramirez, Bryce Dallas Howard, Corey Stoll, Stacy Keach, and Bruce Greenwood. It's out on DVD, Blu-ray, and On Demand May 2. Special features include a deleted sequence, feature commentary with director Stephen Gaghan; and the featurettes "The Origins of Gold," The Locations of Gold," and "Matthew McConaughey as Kenny Wells."
