"Deadpool 2"
Ryan Reynolds' No. 2 is ready for you this Tuesday, August 21 on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. "The Deadpool 2 Super Duper $@%!#& Cut" adds 15 minutes of brand-new action and jokes. The DVD release comes with the gag reel and "Deadpool’s Fun Sack 2." Both the Blu-ray and 4K come with that and sooooo much more -- from deleted/extended scenes to audio commentary with the hilarious filmmakers to multiple making-of featurettes. 20th Century Fox

"The Walking Dead: The Complete Eighth Season"
All the crazy *stuff and thangs* that happened in "The Walking Dead" Season 8 can be watched along with bonus features as All-Out War arrives on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital August 21. Extras include audio commentaries for three episodes, with showrunner Scott Gimple and episode writers and directors; and the featurettes "Carl Grimes: Leaving a Legacy," "In Memoriam," and "The Price of War."

"First Reformed"
This acclaimed thriller-drama (easily one of the year's best films) arrives on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital August 21. Reverend Ernst Toller (Ethan Hawke) is a solitary, middle-aged parish pastor at a struggling church. When a pregnant parishioner (Amanda Seyfried) asks the reverend to counsel her husband, Toller is plunged into his own tormented past-and equally despairing future-until he finds redemption. Extras include audio commentary with director Paul Schrader, and the featurette "Discernment: Contemplating First Reformed."

"Adrift"STX Films

Shailene Woodley went on a "f*cking miserable" near-starvation diet to make this underrated drama, which is based on a true story. As two sailors set out on a journey across the ocean, Tami Oldham (Woodley) and Richard Sharp (Sam Claflin) never anticipated they would be sailing directly into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history. With no hope for rescue, Tami must find the strength and determination to save herself and the only man she has ever loved. Watch the film on Digital August 21, and Blu-ray/DVD/On Demand September 4. Extras include deleted scenes, feature commentary, and three behind-the-scenes featurettes.

"Ocean's 8"
Thieving avengers, assemble! "Crime & Punishment" (Hulu)
Hulu picked up the rights to this award-winning documentary, and it's partnering with IFC Films for a simultaneous theatrical release and Hulu streaming this Friday, August 24. The documentary goes behind-the-scenes to expose discriminatory policing practices, intimidation, and corruption within the NYC Police Department. "Amidst a landmark class action lawsuit over illegal policing quotas, 'Crime + Punishment' chronicles the real lives and struggles of a group of black and Latino whistleblower cops and the young minorities they are pressured to arrest and summons in New York City." "Mystery Road" (Acorn TV)
Judy Davis and Aaron Pedersen star in this Outback noir series, which starts streaming Monday, August 20 on Acorn TV. Compared to "an Aussie 'True Detective' and 'Fargo,'" the drama stars Pedersen as detective Jay Swan, who is sent to the remote Outback town of Patterson to investigate the disappearance of two young cattle workers. He is partnered with local copy Emma James (Davis) to solve the case. Check out the trailer.

"Summer of 84"
This horror-thriller just hit select theaters August 10 and will be available on VOD and Digital HD this Friday, August 24. The official synopsis: "Summer, 1984: The perfect time to be 15 years old and care free. But when neighborhood conspiracy theorist Davey Armstrong (Graham Verchere) begins to suspect his police officer neighbor might be the serial killer all over the local news, he and his three best friends begin an investigation that soon turns dangerous." If you're a fan of "Stranger Things" or Stephen King, give this one a whirl. It rules.

"The Innocents" (Netflix Original)Netflix

If you like the supernatural and scary, this could be a good week for you. This British supernatural TV series follows a teen shape-shifter, and her eight-episode journey starts August 24 on Netflix. Guy Pearce, Sorcha Groundsell, and Percelle Ascott star in the mysterious drama: "What you see…is not what you see…June's adventure starting a new life in London becomes a LOT more complicated than she could have ever expected. Suddenly she finds herself the subject of a kidnap plot, their intentions unknown. Faced with extreme stress her body and identity begin to shift in ways she could have never imagined. "Ghoul" (Netflix Original)
From the makers of "Insidious," "Get Out," and "Udta Punjab," "Ghoul" is a chilling new Indian horror miniseries about "a prisoner who arrives at a remote military interrogation center and turns the tables on his interrogators, exposing their most shameful secrets. You can fight the demons of this world but what about the ones that aren't?" Here's the trailer.

"Follow This" (Netflix Original)
This new docuseries seems like a Netflix version of HBO's "Vice," following reporters at BuzzFeed as they probe cultural topics ranging from quirky Internet crazes to safe injection spaces for opioid users. Check it out starting August 23.

"The After Party" (Netflix Film)
If you want a break from scary stuff and docuseries, check out this comedy film arriving August 24. "When an aspiring rapper goes viral for all the wrong reasons, he thinks his career is over. But when his best friend gets them into a wild NYC after party, he gets one more chance to make the impossible happen." Here's the trailer.

TV Worth Watching

"Mr. Mercedes" Season 2 (Wednesday on Audience Network at 10 p.m.)Audience Network

Everything Stephen King touches is gold these days. Brendan Gleeson (Bill Hodges) and Harry Treadaway (Brady Hartsfield) return for Season 2 of this series based on King's "Mr. Mercedes" trilogy. Be warned, though: Season 2 will be inspired by the third and final book, "End of Watch," rather than "Finders Keepers." During Comic-Con, EP/director Jack Bender explained that it's because the heroes don't even come into the story until halfway through the book and that didn't wash with the TV series plans. The 10-episode second season, which premieres August 22, adds several new stars -- including Jack Huston as Hartsfield's doctor, Felix Badineau; and Maximiliano Hernandez as Assistant DA Antonio Montez.

"America to Me" (Sunday on Starz at 10 p.m.)
This ambitious 10-part docuseries -- starting August 26 on Starz -- follows students, teachers, and administrators in the suburban Chicago area's Oak Park and River Forest High School over the course of a year. OPRF is one of the country's highest performing and diverse public schools, and the series sparks candid conversations about what has succeeded and what has failed in the quest to achieve racial equity and overcome obstacles in our education system.

MTV Music Video Awards (Monday on MTV at 9 p.m.)
Imma let you finish, but you never know what can happen at the VMAs. Cardi B, Beyonce, and Jay-Z lead the nominees for the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, which air live August 20 from Radio City Music Hall.
