The new trailer for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is finally here!

The Skywalker saga grows more intense, with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) seemingly targeting his own mother, Leia (the late Carrie Fisher), Snoke torturing Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) in hand-to-hand combat against Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), and Luke (Mark Hamill) having a flashback to the destruction of his Jedi academy.

The trailer also teases Rey's possible temptation to the dark side, with a brief flash of her torture at the hands of Snoke. Then, in the last seconds of the trailer, she says "I need someone to show me my place in all this" before Kylo Ren reaches a hand out to her.

Of course, it could all be clever editing and the two moments come from completely different scenes. Still, with Luke recalling that he's only seen such power as Rey holds once before (in Kylo Ren), the movie appears to set up parallels between the two young Force-strong warriors.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" opens in theaters December 15.
