Welcome to New Release Rundown. I'm Tony Maccio from Moviefone, and we're running down the most anticipated movies hitting theaters in August 2017. Without further ado....

August 4th starts with the limited release of crime thriller "Wind River," as well as the wide releases of intense drama "Detroit," action-thriller "Kidnap," and Stephen King fantasy "The Dark Tower."

Medieval epic "Pilgrimage" starring Tom Holland gets a limited run on August 11th, while animated sequel "The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature," family drama "The Glass Castle," and supernatural horror flick "Annabelle: Creation" all hit theaters nationwide.

August 18th is action-packed, with the release of "The Hitman's Bodyguard," starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson, and the return of director Steven Soderbergh in hillbilly heist film "Logan Lucky."

We round out August on the 25th, with haunted camera horror movie "Polaroid" and faith-filled drama "All Saints" both hitting theaters.
