New 'Finding Dory' Photo Introduces Two Quirky Friends
Just keep swimming, just keep smiling, and just keep speaking whale for the next 5.5 months, until "Finding Dory" finds you!
Ellen DeGeneres's Dory is returning this June, and Entertainment Weekly just shared a new photo of the lovable blue tang and two of her new friends -- a snub-nosed beluga whale named Bailey (voiced by Ty Burrell), and a whale shark named Destiny (Kaitlin Olson):
"Finding Dory" is set six months after "Finding Nemo," and follows forgetful Dory's quest to find her parents. On the way, EW revealed, she meets Destiny and Bailey at a marine life facility's rehab center.
The three friends are all smiles in this photo, but Ty and Kaitlin told EW that Bailey and Destiny have some quirky issues of their own. "My character isn't great at his own sonar capability, and Destiny has trouble swimming straight," Ty said. Kaitlin added, "We totally get on each other's nerves. I like to think I'm a shark, but Bailey calls me a whale, and I make fun of his head, because it's gigantic."
Well, it's a good thing Dory speaks whale, plus she excels at bringing people (er, underwater creatures) together, so it sounds like she may be the perfect new friend for this duo.
"Finding Dory" hits theaters June 17, 2016. You've seen the first trailer, right? If you pulled a Dory and forgot the details, watch it again.
