Awesome New 'Avengers: Infinity War' Character Photos Are Here: Trailer Coming Soon
How many Marvel characters can you assemble for one magazine? Infinity! (Super lame. Sorry.)
"Avengers: Infinity War" opens in May 2018, which is actually only a few months away. Over the summer, Disney teased fans by showing some amazing footage at the D23 Expo ... but not releasing it to the public. Fans are still on high alert for the first official trailer.
(UPDATE: The trailer is now confirmed to premiere Wednesday, Nov. 29 on "Good Morning America.")
In the meantime, Vanity Fair treated the MCU to several new covers featuring "Infinity War" stars. If your favorite didn't make a cover, he or she is probably featured inside. If not, it's probably because there are 7 gazillion Marvel characters and even a spread this big can't get to all of them.
Here are a few, though:

There's a lengthy story to go with all of those photos, and it hints to some character exit signs ahead.
Here's a portion of the Vanity Fair piece:
"After Avengers 4, an ambitious multi-franchise crossover movie slated for release in 2019, at least some of the original characters who sit at the center of the billion-dollar Avengers team will be hanging up their capes and shields."
As Collider noted, this is connected, in part, to contracts expiring for major stars like Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Chris Evans.
Speaking of Johansson (Black Widow, now blonde), here's what she told Vanity Fair:
"I feel a lot of joy for the next generation. It's a bittersweet feeling, but a positive one."
Chris Hemsworth (Thor) also took a nostalgic tone, at the end of this otherwise fun on-set anecdote from the VF reporter:
On the set of Avengers 4, I watched Marvel's biggest stars lounge on comfy couches under a canopy in the long stretches between takes. Mark Ruffalo scratched Scarlett Johansson's back, while Johansson, Chris Evans, and several other Avengers hunched over their phones in a competitive game of Words with Friends. I reached for a camera to record the moment—some of the most famous faces in the world lit up by phone screens just like the rest of us—but the ever vigilant Marvel security team had wrapped my phone in layers of protective tape. Later, Chris Hemsworth mentioned that very moment to me. "I thought, Could somebody take a photo of this? We're all aware that this is going to be the last time we get to hang out like this."
"The last time." That's referencing "Avengers 4," though, which comes after "Infinity War." It will also be after "Infinity War" that the official title of "Avengers 4" will be revealed.
"Infinity War" opens in theaters May 4, 2018. "Avengers 4" opens May 3, 2019.
