Netflix Falls in Love With Damien Chazelle's Paris-Set Musical Series 'The Eddy'
Damien Chazelle is going from "La La Land" to the City of Lights by bringing music to Netflix.
The streaming service has picked up the Oscar winner's eight-episode musical drama "The Eddy." Set in modern-day Paris, the show takes place in a club and follows its owner, the house band, and the chaotic city that surrounds them. Characters will speak in English, French, and Arabic.
Chazelle is executive producing the series and will also direct two episodes. "Six Feet Under" vet Alan Poul will executive produce with him. The original music will be penned by six-time Grammy winner Glen Ballard, who has worked with Alanis Morissette and Michael Jackson.
Chazelle is keeping busy after the Oscars success of "La La Land." Aside from "The Eddy," he is also directing a biopic movie about Neil Armstrong titled "First Man," which reunites him with Ryan Gosling.
