"Cowboy Bebop" is coming back in a new form and on a new platform.

Netflix has ordered a live-action version of the Japanese anime series. Plans as of now are for a 10-episode season to be made for the streaming service, Entertainment Weekly reports. It'll be based on the original version animated by Sunrise, which premiered in Japan in 1998, rather than the 2001 movie.

"Cowboy Bebop" previously made its way to U.S. viewers. After it was dubbed in English, it premiered on Adult Swim in 2001 and had a successful run. The live-action series will have a lot to live up to.

As the original "Cowboy Bebop" did in the beginning, the Netflix version will center on a team of bounty hunters that includes Spike Spiegel and Jet Black as well as Faye Valentine and Radical Ed. The official description calls a "jazz-inspired, genre-bending story." Christopher Yost is set to write the first episode, and Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum are serving as showrunners alongside Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg.

Original director Shinichiro Watanabe won't helm the live-action series, but he will be a consultant on the show. So far, Netflix has not announced a premiere date.
