NBC Pulls 'Blindspot' From May Sweeps
This doesn't look good. "Blindspot" has been suffering from low ratings and now NBC has pulled it from May sweeps.
The show, which stars Jaimie Alexander and Sullivan Stapleton, will be off the air for four weeks, beginning tonight, April 26.
It will return to finish out its fourth season on May 24 and 31. That's after NBC announces its 2019-20 schedule and it's looking likely "Blindspot" won't be on it.
Despite low ratings, one argument for renewal is that -- at 89 episodes -- it's close to the traditional 100 episodes required for syndication. (Although shows with 88 episodes have been known to qualify for syndication.)
During sweeps, "The Blacklist" will air in "Blindspot"'s place. And "Dateline"will expand to two hours from 9-11 p.m. beginning May 3.
"Blindspot" will return at 8 p.m. May 24 and have a two-hour finale on May 31.
