Nathan Fillion Posts Nathan Drake 'Uncharted' Short Film, and Fans Want More
UPDATE: Nathan Fillion solved his own Nathan Drake mystery on Monday, July 16 by posting a link to this Nathan Drake fan film:
As he explained on Instagram:
"This is something I’ve wanted to do, but more importantly, something I’ve wanted to see for a long time. If you’ve ever pinned a towel around your neck for a cape, or donned a fedora and nearly put your eye out with a homemade whip, this is for you. Thank you, @allanungar, for letting us all scratch this itch. Thank you, @naughty_dog_inc, for creating such a wonderful archetype. Thank you fans, for your excellent taste. You know who you are. Enjoy. "
Fans want more! Make this a feature film, Hollywood!

What, exactly, is going to happen this Monday, July 16 in regard to "Uncharted"?
Nathan Fillion is a dream choice of many fans to play Nathan Drake in a film version of the video game "Uncharted." Last we heard -- in May 2017 -- Tom Holland was cast to play a young version of the treasure hunter in a movie directed by Shawn Levy. Many fans were hoping Fillion would get to play Drake instead.
But now fans are confused, and hopeful, that Fillion will somehow be involved either in that movie or another "Uncharted" project.
The "Castle" alum hasn't exactly been subtle, but he has cleverly planted clues for fans -- starting with a photo of a different Drake:
The caption "Sic Parvis Magna. 7/16/18" means "Greatness from small beginnings," the motto adopted by Nathan Drake, who is said to be descended from Sir Francis Drake. The date is for this coming Monday.
His next photo was more of a visual clue, just including the caption "7/16/18":
Fans wonder if he'll play the older version of Holland's character in the movie, or ... what?
Variety was told that Nathan Fillion has nothing to do with the movie, which hasn't seen much progress since its announcement. So is he doing something for the game, a streaming series, something else?
Yes, he has to know fans are hoping for movie news with these teases. He'll have a lot to answer for if Monday's announcement is for something less exciting.
