Most excellent! Bill & Ted return to 'Face the Music'
Now, more than ever, do we need a reminder of the wise words of William "Bill" S. Preston Esq. and Theodore "Ted" Logan: "Be excellent to each other."
But it turns out Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) haven't changed the world quite yet. Far from it - in spite of their adventures across time, the (possible) future legends Wyld Stallyns have yet to write the song that will bring humanity and the galaxy together.
As the official synopsis teases:
The stakes are higher than ever for the time-traveling exploits of William "Bill" S. Preston Esq. and Theodore "Ted" Logan. Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends - to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe.
Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine are playing the duo's daughters, and William Sadler reprises his role as Death. Rounding out the cast are Kid Cudi, Kristen Schaal, Anthony Carrigan, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Jillian Bell, Holland Taylor, Beck Bennett, Hal Landon Jr. and Amy Stoch.
This film is directed by Dean Parisot (director of the criminally underseen Galaxy Quest) and was written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the writers of the first two Bill & Ted films.
Bill & Ted Face the music is scheduled to open in theaters on August 21, 2020.
