Auli’i Cravalho, who voiced the title character in Disney's "Moana," will star in the upcoming Netflix musical comedy "Sorta Like a Rock Star."

Cravalho will play a teenage girl who, despite her difficult circumstances, is unusually optimistic about the world and her place in it. That is, until she faces a devastating loss and can no longer ignore the challenges in her own life.

We'll bet that music helps fix everything.

Brett Haley, whose films include Sundance favorites "The Hero" and "Hearts Beat Loud," will direct.

Filming is set to start in October.

Besides starring in "Moana," Cravalho played Lilette Suarez  on the NBC series "Rise."
