Perhaps Kermit the Frog had one too many of Miss Piggy's karate chops to the neck throughout their nearly 40 years together.
The exes, never shy about quarreling on camera, have been settling their disputes by physical means, specifically a blow from Piggy's satin gloved hand followed by her shrieking: "Hi-ya!"
Following their joint-statements released yesterday, confirming the end of their relationship, we take a look at a supercut of their biggest squabbles.
But it seems Kermit won't be lonely on his lily pad for long. Some of Hollywood's most beautiful ladies have already began courting the "Rainbow Connection" singer, including Emmy Rossum and Ming-Na Wen, who tweeted flirty messages after the breakup announcement.
Previously, Kermit and Miss Piggy made their big screen debut in 1979’s “The Muppet Movie” and eventually got hitched in 1984’s “The Muppets Take Manhattan.” Most recently they hit the box office again in 2011’s “The Muppets,” co-starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams. This fall they return to TV in ABC's "The Muppets."
