Hollywood is yellow with envy Monday.

The little gibberish-speaking sidekicks from "Minions" collected $115.2 million at the domestic box this weekend to score the second-largest opening for an animated feature in history.

Featuring the voice talent of Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm and Allison Janney (and riding a wave of merchandise tie-ins), "Minions" came up just short of the record set by "Shrek the Third," which brought in $121.6 million in 2007.

Of the other new releases, the ultra-low-budget "The Gallows" opened at fifth with a respectable $10 million while "Self/Less" underwhelmed in eighth with $5.4 million.

Three holdovers from previous weeks remained strong at the box office: "Jurassic World" in second place brought in another $18.1 million to bring its domestic haul to $590.6 million, a little ahead of third-place "Inside Out" with $17.1 million ($283.6 million total), followed by "Terminator Genisys" with $13.7 million ($68.7 million total).
