Michelle Rodriguez will join Sigourney Weaver in the gender-swapping action film "Tomboy: A Revenger's Tale."

The "Fast and Furious" star will play an ace assassin who's changed from a man into a woman by a rogue doctor (Weaver) after the hitman-turned-hitwoman is double-crossed by gangsters, according to The Hollywood Report on Tuesday.

The movie is director by Walter Hill, who also wrote the script. Shooting begins Nov. 9.

 

This is the first starring role for Rodriguez in some time. She's better known for ensemble action and sci-fi movies like the "Fast" films, the "Resident Evil" franchise and "Avatar."
