Martin Landau Dies at 89: Co-Stars Honor 'Talented, Sweet, Generous' Oscar Winner
We lost two horror heroes this weekend -- Martin Landau on Saturday, and George A. Romero on Sunday.
Landau won an Oscar for playing horror legend Bela Lugosi in "Ed Wood," and was nominated two other times, for "Tucker: The Man and His Dream" and "Crimes and Misdemeanors." He died July 15 from "unexpected complications" after a brief stay at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, his rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 89.
Landau is survived by daughters Susan Landau Finch and Juliet Landau (aka Drusilla on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel").
Landau's career spanned Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" and CBS's "Mission: Impossible" right up to 2017 with "The Last Poker Game," which just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Martin Landau was kind, curious, and he treated artists with respect. He was a great teacher because he sought to learn from his students

Martin Landau was awesome. NXNW, Mission Impossible, a zillion guest roles, never giving less than 100%. THEN, Ed Wood, for God's sake!
