Mark Gatiss Confirms Return to 'Game of Thrones' Season 7 ... and Beyond?
Looks like the bill may be due for Cersei Lannister.
Mark Gatiss confirmed he is returning to "Game of Thrones" in Season 7 as Tycho Nestoris, an Iron Bank representative -- and possibly in Season 8, as well.
While speaking to press at the BFI & Radio Times Festival, Gatiss said, "Yes, I did it in Belfast last year. I can't tell you anything more obviously, mostly because I don't know anything. It was lovely. What I love about it is that I don't have any stake in it."
While Gatiss didn't reveal his scene partners, he did let an interesting tidbit slip. "I've done four episodes now and there's two more, they think," he said.
Tycho has appeared in two episodes so far -- in Season 4, when Stannis Baratheon asks for a loan and in Season 5, when Mace Tyrell travels to Braavos to discuss the crown's debt. Since Gatiss has "done four episodes," that means Tycho will appear in two installments this season. Which means the "two more, they think" would be in the eighth and final season.
Tycho could play a significant role in the battle for the Iron Throne. The Lannisters are heavily in debt to the Iron Bank, and he is likely to arrive in King's Landing demanding payment -- just when Cersei needs funds to deal with the arrival of Daenerys Targaryen.
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 premieres July 16 on HBO.
