Luke Wilson isn't willing to settle for another dumb "Blonde."

During an interview Monday with James Corden on "The Late Late Show," the comedic-actor said he wanted another turn at reprising his character in "Legally Blonde," which paired him as Reese Witherspoon's love interest, after the sequel failed to impress fans and critics as much as the first film released in 2001.

Sitting next to actress Mary Lynn Rajskub, also a guest, who was featured in 2003's "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde," Wilson recalled a conversation with Bob Newhart and his wife about the film, of which Newhart costarred.

"'Luke and I were in what was voted the worst movie of all time,'" Wilson said of how Newhart introduced him to his wife. "I didn't know that," Wilson said of the romantic-comedy's ranking. "Apparently, it wasn't as highly thought of as the first one. ... That's why we need to do [a third film], to win everybody back."

"Legally Blonde 2" was ranked No. 21 on Entertainment Weekly‍ 's "Top 25 Worst Sequels Ever Made." Still, despite its lack of appreciation, both films were hits, earning $124 for the second installment and $141 for the first. They have since enjoyed a TV replay afterlife.

Over the weekend, the film's lead Witherspoon also campaigned for a follow-up during an appearance on "Fashionably Late With Rachel Zoe."

“I think we’re ready to see Elle and see what she’s up to lately,” she said of the character. “A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it,” Witherspoon continued. “I actually think it’s kind of great right now because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women. And I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice or someone who runs for office.”
