Luke From 'Gilmore Girls' Is Launching His Own Brand of Coffee
Lorelai Gilmore must be so proud of her husband!
"Gilmore Girls" star Scott Patterson is channeling his inner Luke and serving coffee to the real world. Patterson talked to WealthManagement.com about his financial plan, "Gilmore Girls" money, and how he spends his off-time. Here's his java side gig:
"I'm developing my own coffee brand. We're almost ready to launch, but we want to have our ducks in a row before we come out with it. Quality coffee is something that I am obsessed with. It's the thing I look forward to every morning and throughout the day and throughout the evening and now throughout the middle of the night. It's going to be called Scotty P's Big Mug Coffee."
Spoken like a true "Gilmore Girls" star! Before Netflix premiered "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," they opened a series of Luke's Diner pop-up shops with free coffee. Maybe Patterson can't use the name Luke in the brand 'cause it's too tied to the show?
As Food and Wine noted, "The café Patterson worked in on Gilmore Girls is so iconic that there may even be a Luke's Diner Lego set on the way. The show has its own ice cream, too – and guess what? It's coffee flavored of course. This is a fanbase that really, really loves their morning Joe. Patterson should probably capitalize on the show's almost cult-like following while he still can."
Yep. That's probably what he's doing, especially since he's not sure if there will even be more "Gilmore Girls." When WealthManagement.com asked, "Are you guys working on the next season of Gilmore Girls?" he answered, "I'm not waiting around for that. You know, who the hell knows?"
More episodes are not a given. But there will always be people like Lorelai Gilmore, who need coffee like oxygen.
