Lifetime Has Found Its Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for TV Movie
Lifetime's upcoming (unauthorized) movie about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's courtship has finally said "I do" to its two main cast members.
The cable net revealed this week that it has cast actors Murray Fraser ("The Loch") and Parisa Fitz-Henley ("Jessica Jones") as the royal and his fiancee in the flick "Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance." The film will chronicle the early days of the high-profile pair's relationship, including their introduction through mutual friends.
"Harry & Meghan" will delve into the difficulties the pair faced in keeping their burgeoning romance a secret, as well as the harsh spotlight they were thrust into after going public (including Prince Harry's fierce defense of Markle against racist attacks), and their ultimate engagement, which they officially announced in November. The movie will also explore Markle's background as a divorced American actress, which initially scandalized the British tabloid press.
There's no word yet on when "Harry & Meghan" will make its debut, though with the pair's real-life wedding scheduled for May 19, it would make sense for Lifetime's version of events to premiere around the same time. The film is set to begin production in Vancouver this week, with a spring airdate planned.
