Laurence Basse Already Won 'Project Runway' Season 15 With Her Jackets
"Project Runway" Season 15 is still airing, but no matter who wins, Laurence Basse won. The designer -- who modeled for 15 years and spent six years in fashion design school in Paris -- is the picture of poise on the Lifetime show, just focusing on work while many other designers gossip and "shade."
She definitely has a signature in her leather work, especially in jackets but also in the (as Nina Garcia put it) "Bentley" of little black dresses in the cocktail dress challenge:

Laurence didn't win that week (for some reason), but she did win last week's Episode 7 "Welcome to the Urban Jungle" challenge. Actress Leslie Jones -- who wore a dress by "Project Runway" Season 4 winner Christian Siriano to the "Ghostbusters" premiere -- was one of the many fans to wish she had her own Laurence jacket:

That was actually Laurence's second win, after the Episode 2 JustFab.com challenge:

At this point, "Project Runway" Season 15 has finished shooting, the designers have already shown at Fashion Week, and Laurence either won the season or she didn't. (This USA Today report describing Fashion Week runway looks sure hints to Laurence being one of the finalists, at the very least.) GoldDerby now has Laurence with the best odds to win. But it seems pretty clear from fan reactions -- including celebrity requests -- that Laurence has won herself a thriving post-PR career either way.
"Project Runway" Season 15 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Lifetime.
