Latest HBO Leak Includes 'Game of Thrones' Scripts, Exec Emails
The hackers who stole a huge trove of data from HBO have leaked even more sensitive information, including a month's worth of emails from a company executive.
The leak includes the script outlines of the first four episodes of "Game of Thrones" Season 7, as well as the unaired fifth episode. Some of the internal documents are marketing spreadsheets, financial statements, and even a list of "Game of Thrones" stars' personal telephone numbers and email addresses.
The hackers also sent a video letter to HBO CEO Richard Plepler that is basically a ransom note demanding an unspecified payment to prevent further leaks.
HBO is continuing to work with authorities on tracing the origin of the leaks.
The company said in a statement: "HBO believed that further leaks might emerge from this cyber incident when we confirmed it last week. As we said, the forensic review is ongoing. While it has been reported that a number of emails have been made public, the review to date has not given us a reason to believe that our e-mail system as a whole has been compromised."
