New Home for 'Last Man Standing' at Fox Reportedly Falls Through
The last week has been an emotional roller coaster for "Last Man Standing" fans.
The show's fan base had their hopes dashed Wednesday when it was reported that Fox had opted not to save the beloved sitcom ABC canceled earlier this month. Fox was said to be "seriously" considering the idea, according to Deadline, but ultimately passed.
The show's prospects have been looking dismal since the cancellation, but fans had hoped their outcry would either change ABC's mind or inspire another network to swoop in and save the show. One fan even launched a Change.org petition to that end, and it has garnered nearly 270,000 signatures at the time of this writing. So far, though, efforts haven't paid off.
Like fans, star Tim Allen, was shocked to see the show get the ax. As he tweeted in the aftermath of its cancellation, he was "stunned and blindsided" by the news. Fox's decision likely won't be received much better. The network had seemed like a good fit, especially since the sitcom is produced by 20th Century Fox TV.
The future of "Last Man Standing" may not appear so bright right now, but you never know what will happen. If we've learned one thing in recent years, it is that cancellations aren't necessarily forever.
