Vin Diesel's 'Bloodshot' Adds Lamorne Morris as an 'Unlikely Ally'
Every superhero needs allies, and now Vin Diesel has a new one for "Bloodshot."
"New Girl" alum Lamorne Morris has joined the upcoming superhero flick, Variety reports. He's set to play scientist Wilfred Wigans, who is described as "an unlikely ally" to the film's protagonist. He joins a cast that already includes Michael Sheen, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell, Eiza Gonzalez, Talulah Riley, and Alex Hernandez.
Morris's most recent film was 2018's "Game Night," but he is perhaps best known for his seven-season stint on Fox's "New Girl." He played the hilarious Winston Bishop until the show ended earlier this year. His recent work also includes the movies "Sandy Wexler" and "Barbershop: The Next Cut."
"Bloodshot" is based on the Valiant comic series of the same name and centers on a former soldier with superhuman abilities, such as shapeshifting, healing, and shooting nuclear energy blasts, among others. The comics were created by Kevin VanHook, Don Perlin, and Bob Layton, and the film is set to be directed by Dave Wilson. Neal H. Moritz is producing, while Dan Mintz is executive producing.
So far, Sony Pictures has not announced a release date for the film.
