Kit Harington Dressed as Jon Snow for a 'Bad Taste' Party, 'Cause Rose Leslie Made Him
The things we do for love.
"Game of Thrones," and it's clear Ygritte is still the boss of him. Harington recently proposed to Rose Leslie, who played the kissed-by-fire wildling, and apparently the newly engaged couple recently attended a 30th birthday party together. According to Vanity Fair, which shared details from Harington's Heat magazine interview, the theme of the party was "bad taste," and Harington ended up showing the ultimate "bad taste" by dressing as his own HBO character.
Here's his story, via Vanity Fair:
"So I went to the one costume shop that was open, and the woman who worked there said, 'You know, you really look like the guy from Game of Thrones, and I've got a Game of Thrones outfit.' And she pulled out a Jon Snow costume, and Rose just whispered in my ear, 'I won't love you if you don't wear it. ... You should do it.'
The people bringing round canapés were looking at me, thinking, 'You sad man! You've come dressed as your character.' I think the woman in the shop realized who I was as I was leaving. But that's even sadder: me going to a fancy dress shop and buying a Jon Snow costume."
Ygritte always did know how to get her way. And Jon Snow still knows nuthin about saying no to her.
Harington and Leslie announced their engagement through an old-school ad in the paper. Harington revealed that he popped the question earlier than he originally planned, because he got so excited. He also told the "Game of Thrones" producers they now have to factor a wedding into the final Season 8 schedule. "[The cast] have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down!'" He was joking, but ... they may have to do that twice, depending on when his co-star Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) schedules her wedding to Joe Jonas.
"Game of Thrones" Season 8 is now in production, with filming scheduled to continue into next summer, for a premiere date to be revealed later. Probably 2019.
