Justin Theroux to Star in 'Lady and the Tramp' Live-Action/CG Remake: Report
Justin Theroux is a very good boy! The actor is in talks to voice star in a live-action/CG remake of "Lady and the Tramp," the 1955 animated musical romance.
He would voice the stray mongrel Tramp, who falls in love with a refined, pampered Cocker Spaniel named Lady after she ends up on the street. They embark on a whirlwind romantic adventure, including an iconic moment where they share a plate of spaghetti.
Disney is still looking for an actress to voice Lady. Meanwhile, Ashley Jensen ("Extras," "Catastrophe") is set to play the Scottish Terrier named Jackie. In the original movie, the character was named Jock.
If Theroux does join the cast, that would reunite him with director Charlie Bean. The two worked together on "The Lego Ninjago Movie" last year.
Theroux has been busy since the end of HBO's "The Leftovers." He can currently be seen in the "The Spy Who Dumped Me" and is also starring in the upcoming Ruth Bader Ginsburg film "On the Basis of Sex."
The remake is slated to debut on Disney's forthcoming streaming service, which will launch sometime in 2019.
