Dinosaurs aren't going anywhere.

Universal has slated "Jurassic World 3," the untitled sequel to the upcoming "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom," for release on June 11, 2021.

Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first "Jurassic World" and is a producer of the second film, will co-write the follow-up with Emily Carmichael ("Pacific Rim: Uprising"). A.J. Bayona took over helming duties for "Fallen Kingdom"; no director has been named for the third film.

Trevorrow has said from the beginning that he envisioned the new "Jurassic" movies as a trilogy.

"I remember telling Steven [Spielberg] even while we were making the first movie, 'This is the beginning. Here is the middle. And here's the end of the end. This is where we want to go,'" he said in 2017.

Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprise their roles in "Fallen Kingdom," which will set up the conclusion of the story. Bayona compared it to "Empire Strikes Back" in explaining the darker tone of the second movie.

For now, "Jurassic World 3" has its release date all to itself, though an unnamed Disney/Pixar movie will open a week later.
