Jon Favreau Voicing Alien in 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'
Jon Favreau is heading to a galaxy far, far away.
The actor confirmed reports that he is voicing an alien in "Solo: A Star Wars Story." He's playing the multi-armed creature piloting some vessel, seen briefly in the trailer, a screenshot of which is below;

Earlier this week, Favreau posted an image of himself posing with "Solo" director Ron Howard and co-screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. Howard then announced that Favreau was making a voice cameo in his movie:
Wondering why we r all together? @Jon_Favreau is voicing a very cool & important alien character for #HanSolo Flattered & fortunate I could pull him away from his #LionKing directing duties https://t.co/W5N7YoAlq6

Favreau's alien doesn't look like a species seen before in the franchise, though it does bear some resemblance to Maz Kanata from "The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi."
As Howard mentioned, Favreau is busy directing the live-action remake of "The Lion King" starring Donald Glover (who plays Lando Calrissian in "Solo") and Beyonce. But the actor/director is a longtime fan of "Star Wars" and was reportedly on the short list to helm "Force Awakens."
"Solo: A Star Wars Story" opens May 25.
