Jimmy Fallon Will Host the 2017 Golden Globes
NBC is keeping things all in the family with its latest selection of Golden Globes host: Jimmy Fallon will emcee the awards show next year.
The "Tonight Show" host was tapped for the gig on Tuesday. The 74th annual Golden Globe Awards are set to air on NBC on Sunday, January 8, 2017.
Fallon took to Twitter to celebrate his new hosting duties, writing, "I'm so excited to be hosting The Golden Globes in January." He also couldn't help but get in a little dig at the Republican presidential candidate, quipping that he was "looking forward to spending time with the Hollywood Foreign Press before Donald Trump has them all deported." (Viewers can also probably expect some jokes about the Globes' new set of rules, which are attempting to cut down on category fraud.)

Fallon's selection was an immediate hit on Twitter, where his pals at former home "Saturday Night Live" celebrated his selection with a classic GIF from "The Barry Gibb Talk Show." Fallon may not be any match for fellow "SNL" alums and perfect Globes hosting duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (please, come back to us someday, ladies!), but if he manages to score a Justin Timberlake cameo during the ceremony, he'll have done a fine job.
