Next Seasons of 'Jane the Virgin' and 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' Will Be Their Last
Sad news for fans of "Jane the Virgin" and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend." Both groundbreaking sitcoms will be ending their run on the CW after the 2018-2109 season.
"iZombie" was just renewed for a fifth season, which the network now reveals will also be it last.
Speaking to reporters Thursday morning, CW president Mark Pedowitz said, "We will miss each of those shows in terms of what they've done. They've helped the perception of the CW across the board."
"Jane the Virgin" has won several awards, including a Peabody for the show and a Golden Globe for star Gina Rodriguez. Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman tells the New York Times what we can expect from the final season: "There will be weddings, yes. Different kinds of weddings... The most important thing I will say is, we're not going to end on a cliffhanger. We're going to close things up."
"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" star and creator Rachel Bloom tells Variety, "We've been saying for a long time that we're writing to the end — that it's a four season show. We've kind of known that point from the moment we pitched the show what we want to say in the end, regardless of what actually happens specifically to Rebecca."
Here's how next season of the CW is shaping up:
- Sundays: "Supergirl" and "Charmed" reboot
- Mondays: "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and "Arrow"
- Tuesdays: "The Flash" and "Black Lightning"
- Wednesdays: "Riverdale" and new series "All American"
- Thursdays: "Supernatural" and "Vampire Diaries" spinoff "Legacies"
- Fridays: "Dynasty" and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"
"Jane the Virgin and "iZombie" won't return until midseason. That's also when new shows "Roswell, New Mexico" and "In the Dark" will debut.
