Jack Whitehall Joins 'Jungle Cruise,' Is Immediately Teased by Dwayne Johnson
It looks like Dwayne Johnson wanted his new "Jungle Cruise" co-star, British comedian Jack Whitehall, to know he's not the only one who's got jokes.
Variety broke the news Monday that Whitehall had joined the cast, and the comedian confirmed the report on Twitter, sharing his earnest excitement, plus a little hero worship for The Rock.
"So excited to be joining Jungle Crusie [sic] with the incredible Emily Blunt and one of my heroes @TheRock going to be a blast," he tweeted.

Johnson then chimed in, but he took a very different approach to communicating with his new co-worker. The action star chose to be humorous instead of heartfelt, and he teased his co-star in his public welcome message.
"Welcome @jackwhitehall to our cast of JUNGLE CRUISE," Johnson tweeted. "Very funny and talented lad who's gonna do an outstanding job for us on our movie. He paid me to say that bullsh*t. Let's have some fun my friend and welcome to the fam."

"The fam" includes the Johnson and Whitehall as well as Emily Blunt, who will be Whitehall's onscreen sister, according to Variety. The film is based on Disney's Jungle Cruise amusement park attraction; "Logan" writer Michael Green was responsible for writing the latest version of the script. "The Shallows" helmer Jaume Collet-Serra will direct.
"Jungle Cruise" is scheduled to begin production in May, so that's when the real fun for Whitehall, Johnson, and the rest of the cast will begin.
