The zombie apocalypse is giving way to another crisis -- and this one is all too real.

With former-Hurricane Irma moving north toward Georgia on Monday, production on several TV series has been put on hold, Variety reports. "The Walking Dead" is one of the affected shows as it films in the Atlanta area. The production suspension could last as little as a day, but it will depend on Irma's impact.

Atlanta is one of numerous cities currently under tropical storm warning. Winds are expected to reach up to 70 mph in some areas, according to the National Weather Service, and heavy rains, flooding, and tornadoes are very real risks. We saw proof of the danger when the storm crossed neighboring Florida this weekend; it was a nightmare that some people even compared to "The Walking Dead."

Stopping production seems like a smart precaution. It is a step that several shows shooting in Irma's potential path have taken. Also on hold are "Lodge 49," "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World," "MacGyver," "Dynasty," "Valor," "Star," "The Gifted," and "The Resident."

Hopefully, everyone will come through the storm safely.
