How Allison Janney Screamed to Exhaustion in 'Minions'

She never had to appear on camera, but Allison Janney says acting with her voice alone on "Minions" left her "exhausted."

"I have big cards with my lines up, and we just do them over and over in different ways," Allison, who does the voice of Madge Nelson, tells "Made in Hollywood." "Say it this way - a little more evil. Or sunshine on top of that evil. Just tons of different direction. I would come out of every session completely hoarse because there were a lot of screaming scenes, especially when we go to see Scarlett Overkill."

Only Janney never actually saw Scarlett's voice actress, Sandra Bullock, or costar Jon Hamm, as each showed up in the studio separately. "I only wish that I could be in the same room with all the other actors so we could experience it together."

"Minions" opens Friday.
